Catapult only engages/employs Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander artists to lead/teach & choreograph these workshops & intensive programs in schools/community guiding & mentoring participants on:
Through this, we ensure that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, engaged in Catapult’s programs, have the right to self-determination in their cultural affairs & expression of cultural material.
Catapult’s Aboriginal Youth Ensemble and programs in schools/communities across the Hunter, designed with best practice cultural protocol, and aligned with the NSW Aboriginal Education Policy.
Catapult works directly with Aboriginal youth (8- 18), building skills in Aboriginal/contemporary dance forms, creating & collaborating with First Nations choreographers and composers, who mentor young people on cultural protocol, stories and identity.
