Catapult’s International/Regional residency program is focused on cross-global collaborative contemporary practice, developing new models for choreographic development, spring-boarding regional artists; fostering an ambitious, progressive contemporary arts sector in regional NSW.
The Program offers reciprocal exchange curating international choreographers to collaborate with regionally based professional choreographers, dancers & multi-disciplinary artists in Newcastle, NSW and Internationally; focused on seeding, developing, presenting, producing & touring NEW cross-global contemporary dance works.
Our Vision is to: Transform Newcastle into a epi-centre of choreographic and multidisciplinary arts practice with regional, national & international reach & recognition; a leader for the development of choreographers, commissioning new work, supporting cross-global choreographic experimentation & creating a hub committed to dance practices for professional artists, young people & the community.
This residency program focuses on:

· Performance & Touring.
Catapult has secured partnerships with International arts organisations: ilDance (Sweden), Dance Base (Scotland), Unity Dance & The Hong Kong International Choreographers Festival, Kate Weare Company (New York), Rachel Erdos & Dancers, The Israeli Association of Independent Choreographers
Approach: How will we do it?
Each international organisation or curated artist travel to Newcastle to collaborate with (1-3) professional regional dance choreographers/artists. At Catapult, each residency receives: 3-weeks full-time in our studios including wages (Australian artists), LAH, accommodation, production budget, marketing, administrative & presentation support.
